No visit to Lake Como is complete without seeing Como City itself. It doesn’t matter where you are staying; Como is easily accessible from all locations around the lake. You can get there by high-speed ferry, the traditional ferry boat, bus, car, and if you are on the eastern side of the lake, by train.
We took the “pretty route” and the ferry made a few stops along the way which only served to enrich our experience. The day was beautiful with the sun glistening on the lake and a breeze to keep us cool. All your senses are satisfied by the gentle whir of the boat, the lull of the water, the colours and sights around you, and the fresh smell on the air. A real feeling of well-being crept in; a great preparation for the busy day ahead.
As we neared Como City people started to move about the boat and there was a change of pace. It was market day and I guess they meant business.
