Believe it or not, Menaggio is a relatively short walk from the Grand Hotel Tremezzo. Not everyone decides upon this option since taxis and busses are plentiful. However, I am the kind of person who thrives on a decent walk each day. This route is not to be recommended for children or older people since the pavements are not always even and there are parts where you simply have to walk at the side of the road. Having said that, taking your time and enjoying the details of this stretch of the Lake Como shore, is something I relish and have repeated many, many times. It takes around twenty minutes.
Breathe in the fresh air, take a few photos and keep one eye on the traffic. Please don’t try to walk through the tunnel (seen below), there is a road to the right and a pathway; just stay as close to the lake as you can and you will be fine. Oh, and by the way, flat shoes are highly recommended. Enjoy!
