Lake Como has some interesting vital statistics:

Maximum width – 4.5km

Maximum length – 46km

Maximum depth – 414m

Average depth – 154m

Surface area – 146 square km

Altitude – 198m

The Lake was formed during the Ice Age and has an inverted Y shape with two branches that have Como and Lecco at their tips (see the map). Lake Como is best seen from the water. Take a ferry and enjoying the constantly changing scenery!
